The O&O BlueCon 8 bootable disk is now optimized for Windows Server 2008 R2, which ensures support for the latest hardware. In addition to numerous minor enhancements, other programs such as O&O PartitionManager 3 for easy drive management and O&O DiskRecovery 7 for professional data recovery have been added. O&O PartitionManager allows you to change the size of a system partition and reorganize the files on it to save space. O&O DiskRecovery can reliably track data you thought was lost by using three intelligent search methods. This saves you the hassle of recreating data, if that were at all possible.

Application scenarios

Problem 1: Accessing a computer without an administrator password
Solution: Start O&O BlueCon directly from CD and open the O&O UserManager. Here you have access to all registered users and can change the passwords accordingly with just a few mouse clicks. When you have close BlueCon and restart the computer, the user can log-on using the new password.

Problem 2: Save data from defective systems to external disks
Solution: Start O&O BlueCon and connect an external disk e.g. hard disk or USB Stick to the computer. By using the O&O FileExplorer you can now navigate through your defective system, just as you do with Windows Explorer, accessing files and directories. You can then copy the data you require to an external disk. You can also access other computers in the network.

Problem 3: Completely delete data
Solution: The user-friendly O&O SafeErase Wizard helps you delete sensitive data and entire drives so securely that it prevents the data ever being recovered again, even with specialized software. Thanks to the five different deletion methods, data can be overwritten up to 35 times.

Different Editions
O&O BlueCon is available in both an Admin and Tech Edition. These two Editions differ in their functionality and licensing. The Admin Edition (AE) is licensed per administrator and can be used on all computers in the company. The Tech Edition (TE) can be used as part of a data recovery service. It is licensed per technician and can be used on an unlimited number of computers. In addition, the TE includes O&O DiskImage 5 for creating images.

How does Machine Independent Restoration work (MIR)?

With O&O BlueCon 8 Admin Plus you can restore any image on any hardware. It doesn’t matter what software was used to create the image. Just proceed as follows:

• Restore the image to the new hardware using the software with which it was created
• Start O&O BlueCon
• Run O&O DiskImage (included) and apply MIR (*)
• All drivers and settings will be adjusted automatically
• Restart - Ready!

You don’t need any additional software or license from other publishers for this - adjustments are made automatically, since O&O DiskImage is part of O&O BlueCon. Of course if you wish, you can also incorporate additional drivers for exotic hardware. Fact of the matter is, your old image will also run on your new hardware!
