You see, our Redirector creates complementary virtual serial ports you can use instead of real ones. Created virtual port behaves exactly like its original real one and your system will never recognize the difference. All data sent to redirected COM port would be received by redirection port and vice versa.

Work with rigid applications
As you know, not all software settings are easily modified. For example, you may install any serial port device that was assigned to COM8 by operating system. However, the software that should communicate with the device on COM8 could be configured to COM1-COM4 only.

Currently COM1 and COM2 serial ports are occupied, therefore, theoretically, you may use COM3 and COM4, but they are not present in your system. That is the situation where Advanced COM Port Redirector can be useful. With our software you can create a redirection pair, where COM9 is real port and COM3 is virtual redirection port. Thus, application will work with COM3 port as with real hardware serial port.

A solution with serial port monitoring ability
With Advanced COM Port Redirector you will be able to oversee all serial port communication completely. As you have created an absolute copy of real serial port, you can redirect all data streams to it. Now your monitor will be able to see all data that is being sent from serial port to the application and vice versa.

Emulate signal lines
Virtual serial ports created with Advanced Com Port Redirector emulate and support all usual hardware signal lines (DTR/DSR, RTS/CTS, RING, ERROR, DCD, etc.) As in real null-modem connection, DTR of the local port connected to DSR and DCD of the remote port, and RTS of the local port connected to CTS of the remote port.
