Password Depot Server

Password Depot Server allows you to share your common passwords and other confidential data in your team. The server module is an extension of Password Depot (client).

In the Server Panel you can create or define password files and grant certain access rights (read only, modify, delete etc.) to different users. Thus, all your important company passwords will be stored in one central place and will always be up-to-date.

All the team members can then access the password files which the administrator has assigned to them.

Installation and usage

The server module will be installed on a computer in the local network. An administrator can manage users and groups using the Server Control Panel and assign access rights to specific password files.

The server itself can be installed as a NT service or as a Windows application, in both cases it has no user interface, does not interact with the desktop and consumes a minimum of system resources.

After being activated by the administrator, users can access password files which have been assigned to them on the server. According to the granted access rights the user can change entries in the password files, so that these are available for other users after saving. One password file can be accessed by several users at the same time.

Licensing and unlocking

The Server Module can be used for free for up to 3 users. In this case, the number of users refers to the number of users which access the server simultaneously, while the number of users which you can create in the Control Panel is always unlimited.

To use the Server Module with more than 3 users simultaneously, you will need an according license which is available in scales ranging from 6 users to an unlimited number of users.

To be able to access the Server Module from the clients, the Professional Edition of Password Depot is need as well, it is not possible to use the Server Module with the freeware version.
