This tutorial CD teaches users how to design a single story home from start to finish utilizing 2D architectural features in TurboCAD. It includes 5 hours of videos, broken down into several "mini movies" that make it easy to learn at your own pace. In addition to designing the home plan, the program offers green design tips such as how to use “modular” design techniques to reduce or eliminate wasted lumber, trusses, concrete blocks, and more.
The videos in the tutorial have been recorded to include TurboCAD 17 architectural feature updates. It is appropriate for all levels of TurboCAD (Platinum, Pro, Deluxe, and Designer) because its emphasis is in using the 2D tools. There are some newer topics discussed, like using the Print Style Manager to emphasize individual views. For example, a floor plan can be converted to grayscale with the electrical plan components drawn in black for clear communication of the electrical plan when printed. The TurboCAD 17 Template is completely new and incorporates the predefined print styles as illustrated in the paperspace screen shots and PDF’s taken from the drawing in the tutorial. The new template has also been updated with more of a large architectural firm look and feel, as well as utilizing the AIA layer naming standards of “Discipline-Category-subcategory”.

Then, you’ll layout the site plan drawing the lot, positioning the house, and drawing the utilities. Finally, we finish the plan, placing detail markers, square footage, job info, and saving your template.
